IN RESPONSE TO THE MANY AND CLEAR OBJECTIONS TO THE APPLICATIONS FOR PLANNING AND LISTED BUILDING CONSENT FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF GRADE II* LISTED SURREY COUNTY HALL (SCH) – 21/03939/FUL AND 21/03970/LBC THE DEVELOPERS (RER) HAVE OFFERED SIGNIFICANT CHANGES TO THEIR APPLICATION

The main changes to the Development are described below: (download full Design and Access statement here)

  • Reduction in the number of residential units proposed from 315 to 292;
  • Design changes to respond to comments from the RBK planning officers including:
  • Building A1 – reduced from 8 to 6 storeys (reduction of 2 storeys);
  • Associated elevation changes to Building A1;
  • Building A2 – reduced from 6 to 4 storeys with plant enclosure set back from southern boundary;
  • Building A3 – Reduced From 4 to 3 storeys with projecting western wing removed;
  • Building A2/A3 link building increased from 2 to 3 storeys;
  • Nos.5 and 7 Milner Road now retained as single family houses with alterations to rear gardens;
  • Enhanced landscaping along the southern site boundary facing Woodbines Avenue;

New plan shows retention of family homes in Milner Road, albeit with smaller gardens. The main buildings A1.A2 and A3 are still extremely close to the boundary walls of the gardens in Woodbines Avenue and Milner Road.
