(Please note:- revised meeting date 24th April) A-Z of Kingston-upon-Thames, Places-People-History presented by Julian McCarthy

Wednesday 24th April 7.30pm at the Judge lecture Hall, Tiffins School

For ‘operational reasons’ (you know: leaves on the track, the wrong kind of snow) we have had to postpone our regular meeting by a week so it will be on the 24th April NOT on the 17th April. Otherwise usual rules of engagement apply.

So please forgive the irregularity and come to the next public meeting to learn about the A-Z of Kingston-upon-Thames, Places-People-History where alongside the famous historical connections, Julian McCarthy will include some unusual characters, such as Dr Battie, famous for his studies of insanity and arguably the origin of the phrase ‘batty’ and Mrs Morton who died aged 93 having ‘lived to see 400 issued from her loynes’, tucked away places, less well known associations, for example with land and water speed record holders Sir Malcolm and Donald Campbell, and unusual events such as the Shrove Tuesday football match.

PLEASE NOTE REVISED DATE: Wednesday 24th April 7:00pm for 7:30pm at the Judge Lecture Hall, Tiffin School, Kingston upon Thames KT2 6RL  (Click here to see a map of the area).
