Queen’s Promenade Friends
Wednesday 21st February 7.30pm at the Judge lecture Hall, Tiffins School

It was no surprise when Queen’s Promenade Friends won the People’s Choice Award at the Kingston Society Townscape Awards, and by a very convincing majority. The group which as any riverside visitor will know have transformed and restored the promenade into a wonderful space in which to enjoy the water. They are a voluntary group, founded in 2019, that has massively improved the river promenade in Kingston upon Thames as a recreational space of horticultural interest for wildlife habitat and biodiversity.

In doing so, they are inclusive and welcoming to all and provide value for local communities, create connections and improve health and well being for their volunteers and all local residents and visitors. How one small determined group made this happen is a story worth hearing – come along and hear how they did it, presented by Chair Stefan Gros and media manager So-Shan.
